We can finally put the speculation to rest. Apple just released an official statement that the long awaited iPhone 5 will be made available to more than 50 additional countries this month, starting with South Korea this Friday, December 7th.
The following Friday, December 14th, Malaysia will be in the iPhone 5 launch list, along with other countries like Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
On December 21st, the rest of these countries will see the launch of the iPhone 5 as well: Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam.
The iPhone 5 is already available in 47 countries now including US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK. As we already know, it comes in two colors: black & slate or white & silver with three storage option of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
Official pricing for the Malaysian market has yet to be announced. We would expect it to be similar, if not the same as the 4S’ price when it was first launched:

* 32 GB – RM2,590
* 64 GB – RM2,890
Our carriers might also begin offering their registration of interest this coming Friday.
